Poplar farm annexe

This little place is lovely and cosy. Everything you would want from a little converted cottage and in a brilliant quiet location.

The bedroom upstairs was lacking in curtains to keep the morning light out. We had to put clothes and blankets up at the windows to keep it dark in the morning. Also when we turned up the whole place was full of flies but we just brought some fly spray and understand it's due to location and nearby animals.

The property was beautiful, spotlessly clean, easy to access and incredibly comfortable. The host was easy to contact and quick to respond (and very friendly with the responses too!) The location was also lovely, having the sheep to greet in the morning was a very sweet touch, and having the fields to overlook with the wildlife felt very peaceful. The area was quiet and we slept very well without any concerns. We hope to visit again when we are next in the area and would highly recommend the accommodation to friends and family.

As a family with a young child, the only things that that could have improved the stay would have been a non-slip mat for the shower, as our toddler did slip over on the first night, and the fridge did not have any shelves which made it a little difficult to make full use of. The option of a free-standing stairgate would have really enhanced it, but we did makeshift with a footstool which was handy - but these are only minor things that could have helped us, and would not be applicable to all visitors to the property and would absolutely not prevent us from visiting again.

There was an issue with the tap - it was constantly running so had to keep turning the water on and off at the wall. Also there were SO MANY FLIES!! Which I appreciate is not the owners fault (the local pub also seemed to have loads everywhere) but some fly tape or fly spray or a chain doorway flygate would have been an idea....
