Beautiful mountain house, perfectly restored and with an excellent view. Owners managed to keep the traditional style while refreshing it with all modern comfort. Owners are very friendly and even operate a restaurant in the nearby town, less than 5 minutes away, where you can have a great meal.

I'm sure this will be addressed soon, but better insulation could be provided as we had some windy days where we could feel the cold coming from the windows and door, despite the heat and the fireplace being on. Be aware, this accommodation requires you to be able to climb/descend 120 plus uneven steps, so it might not be the best solution if you are not fit.

Fantastic location. Delightful and exceptionally finished renovation in a Schist Village. Quaint. Well supplied. Extremely clean. A perfect place to spend a cozy night by the fire. Lovely deck with amazing vistas of the valleys. With the weather, we had a love/hate relationship with the steps down to the cabin. Extremely well done, but further than we imagined. One couple had 72 years and the other couple had 81 years and we were fine. Not everyone would be, as it is not handicap friendly. The entrance video is excellent, however had we known in advance the number of steps, we might not have booked, and we are so glad we did!

The weather was unusually wet, so it didn’t receive a visit to turn on the boiler at or before arrival. A folder with an explanation of the heating and hot water system would have been helpful. Also, some info on the restaurant and shops in nearby Talasnal would be nice.

This was the highlight of our stay in Portugal. The village is unlike any other place we have stayed, and we felt like we were back in time. The inside was nicely decorated, and we felt very comfortable, we had a fireplace and everything we needed. The location and charm of this home and village cannot be described. We loved it. We really loved hiking from village to village.

The location may be hard for some to reach, up a winding mountain road. There are also many steps to the cottage, which may make it difficult for those with mobility issues. We were fine, but this is an area where you need to enjoy the outdoors and hiking, etc.
