Philly Getaway - Chic Stay Near Center City

Suitable for our needs

Amenities were bare minimum. Could have had shower soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have paper towels or a dish cloth to clean up the kitchen when we used it. The dish rack just doesn’t fit on the counter and was difficult to balance the washed dishes in it. A new clean sponge should be replaced each time. The one there was very smelly

This three bedroom units was very spacious with 4 bathroom.

The building door mechanism was not functioning properly. We entered the code multiple times, which eventually led to us being locked out. I tried calling and messaging the owner but was unable to reach anyone. Eventually, after about 10 minutes, we somehow got the door to work. However, this happened every time we returned to the building. I was traveling with a companion, and it was not pleasant to be locked out after returning from dinner, especially since the doorway had no lighting, which made the situation even more frustrating and frightening. On the third night, the top part of the door handle became detached from the door. We were lucky to somehow finagle it back into place so we could enter the code and get into the building (after three tries). I contacted both the owner and Booking.com again, this time providing photos of the damaged door. The owner eventually responded and said they had contacted their handyman to fix the issue. However, when we left the next morning, the door was still broken. I booked this property because of its value and location, but after rereading reviews from previous guests, I noticed that a couple of them had also mentioned issues with the door. I believe this is a major fire hazard and safety concern, and the property should address it immediately. Booking.com has been negotiating with the property on my behalf, but they have not been able to reach an agreement. I do not recommend this place. While you may save some money, I believe peace of mind and knowing you are safe are far more important.
