Hostel Wawa Star

There used to be employees here who had worked at this hostel for years, practically since it first opened. Were they perfect? No. But they kept the place clean, safe, and well looked after. Every single one of them was eventually let go. When I was forced to leave just a few weeks ago because I refused to let some bullying employee talk down to me, it became obvious that my days here were numbered as well. What else could anyone expect? A hostel is supposed to be a business (not some personal vandeta of a project against people you dont like), and guests should be treated with basic respect. If management enforces a "quiet hours" rule, yet the very employee responsible for enforcing it is loudly talking outside your room at 2 a.m. while drunk—and you, as a long-term guest, become the problem simply for pointing out that hypocrisy—then the system is fundamentally broken. And I don't believe the problem lies with every employee. In fact, I suspect the owner may not even be fully aware of what goes on. The real issue is the individual who creates this toxic environment: someone who speaks disrespectfully to guests, talks down to staff—including one of the kindest women working there—and seems to operate with complete impunity. It was also an open secret that the owner's relative (the hydraulic worker) had inappropriate relationships with employees. Whether or not anyone chooses to ignore it, it reflects very poorly on the place. My advice to anyone staying here: never allow anyone to speak down to you. Respect goes both ways. Ironically, I had never left a negative review of this hostel until I experienced the sheer depth of the hypocrisy, double standards, and overall decline in professionalism. That, more than anything else, is what changed my mind. I had very good experience with the management lady Karolina and current admin. But what does it matter, the power lies with the corrupt individual to whom they answer to. So the good atmosphere and progress is hampered as they cannot affect true positive change

Very disappointing- white supremo-centric. At first, i thought the problem was the workers themselves. Unfortunately, as i came to find out after being a regular stayed here, the problem is deep rooted up at the top. Brother of the owner (as everyone likes to mention this) is a loud drank. And although the new worker is a good change, what does it matter if she doesn't have power and has to answer to the drank who makes new rules on the spot. No loyalty here. More comments to come
