Hotel Vistara

We stayed at Hotel Vistara in Kathmandu, Nepal, for 4 nights, in a Superior Double Room (Room ***, located on the first floor). Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. The room was comfortable and clean, the location was convenient, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It is definitely a hotel worth considering when visiting Kathmandu. 🛏️ Room Comfort & Facilities Our room was quite spacious, with a warm and cosy wooden interior design that created a relaxing atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and the room was equipped with air conditioning, a Smart TV, a safety deposit box, an electric kettle, and other basic amenities. The Smart TV also supported apps such as YouTube, which was convenient for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The bathroom was generally clean and functional, although we noticed some mould on certain areas of the bathroom ceiling. It would be great if the hotel could improve its maintenance in this area. However, this minor issue did not affect our overall comfort or use of the bathroom. One thing to note is that disposable slippers were not provided, so I would recommend bringing your own. 🍳 Breakfast Experience The hotel provides breakfast, and although the selection was somewhat limited, the food was tasty, fresh, and relatively healthy. Personally, I believe that quality matters more than quantity when it comes to breakfast. Even with fewer choices, we enjoyed the food and found it sufficient to start our day. 🌄 Rooftop with Beautiful Views One of the highlights of the hotel is its rooftop terrace on the top floor, where guests can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Kathmandu. From the rooftop, you can admire the surrounding city buildings and distant mountains. The scenery is particularly lovely, and I imagine it would be even more impressive on a clear day. I would definitely recommend visiting the rooftop during your stay to enjoy the view and take some memorable photos. 🍜 Nearby Restaurants Worth Visiting Another great advantage of Hotel Vistara is its convenient location, with several restaurants within a short walking distance. 1. Yangling Tibetan Restaurant Approximately 2 minutes' walk from the hotel. A great option for travellers interested in trying Tibetan cuisine. 2. Green Villy Restaurant – Thamel, Kathmandu Approximately 1 minute's walk from the hotel if you take the shortcut. There is a small gate or passage near the front of the hotel that provides a shortcut to the restaurant. Using this shortcut saves time compared to walking around the main road. Both restaurants are conveniently located, making it easy to find somewhere to eat without having to travel far. 💵 Nearby Money Exchange Services There are also two money exchange shops located approximately 2 minutes' walk from the hotel, which is very convenient for international travellers who need to exchange foreign currency into Nepalese Rupees (NPR). Based on our experience and enquiries during our visit, the money exchange shops accepted US dollar banknotes issued in 1996 or later. However, please keep in mind that currency exchange requirements may change over time. Acceptance can also depend on the condition, series, and denomination of the banknotes. I strongly recommend checking directly with local money exchange or hotel providers for the latest requirements before exchanging your money. 😊 Friendly Owner & Helpful Reception Staff One of the things we appreciated most during our stay was the hospitality of the hotel owner and reception staff. Everyone was friendly, approachable, and helpful throughout our visit. Another positive point was their quick response to messages and enquiries. Whenever we had questions or needed information, they responded promptly, which made communication smooth and convenient. For travellers visiting Nepal for the first time, having a hotel team that is responsive and willing to assist can make a big difference. ⭐ Overall Experience Overall

Friendly staff even I check-in very late at night. Great view roof top breakfast and good taste coffee cup you will enjoy.

1泊しました。施設も部屋も綺麗です。ただお湯が十分温かくないのが残念でした。温度調節も最大にしてしばらくシャワー出したけど生温いしドライヤーはありません。しかも朝食はかなり微妙。 The facility and the room are clean but no hot water in the shower, just lukewarm and no hair dryer in the room. Also the breakfast didn't have much options.
