Mercure Hotel Windhoek

There were no major issues, but if I had to mention any, there are the following two points. When I handed over the receipt stub for my luggage, which I’d left in storage earlier, the receptionist was like ‘What’s this?’ So I explained that I’d left my luggage there, then they asked what sort of luggage it was and went off to look for it, which made me wonder how the hotel actually manages guests’ luggage. Also, there was a crack in the bottom of the bath, and it rattled when I stood on it, so I was on edge, wondering when it might shatter. Apart from that, there were absolutely no problems, and as I was given a lovely room, I have no complaints whatsoever. Due to my flight schedule, I arrived at the hotel well before check-in time, but they let me in my room straight away, which was a great help.

There were a few issues with the service in the restaurant. It seemed that the staff weren’t coordinating properly with one another. The food was delicious, though. At reception, I was asked to pay for my room even though it had already been settled; conversely, the bill didn’t include the cost of the meal I’d had at the restaurant the previous evening, which had been charged to my room. It took a little while to sort out this discrepancy, so I had to wait before checking out (which was fine, as I wasn’t in a rush). The room was clean. The shower alone didn’t feel particularly sophisticated, but I was satisfied with everything else. The fridge in the room didn’t keep things cold nicely, but I suppose I can’t really complain.

Great place, peaceful in the heart of Windhoek... Breakfast is great, the swimming pool is great, variety of restaurants within walking distance.. Great for unwinding all the work stress, gym and Spa onsite ..

We were surprised by the excellence of the staff who helped us since we start with our booking. The facility meets our expectations we definitely will book in there again. We do visit Windhoek a lot and we already recommend the Hotel to our family members
