    I booked a room at Nila Residency through Agoda on 9 Nov 2025 and extended my stay for two more days as my wife and I were exploring Rameshwaram. We left early every morning and returned to the room only around 9–9:30 PM. On the third day, we paid the rent in cash and planned to stay for a fourth day as well. However, while we were outside, the hotel manager called and demanded an additional ₹400, claiming there was a power cut in Rameshwaram and they were using a generator. I explained that ₹400 was too high since we were barely in the room during the day and that basic facilities like electricity are the hotel’s responsibility. I requested a reduced amount, especially since changing rooms with family is difficult, but the manager refused. Because of this, we had to leave the hotel immediately. The overall experience was very disappointing—there was no room cleaning, no change of bedsheets or towels, no basic facilities, and yet they asked for extra money. The manager was uncooperative, and the hotel is located far from the Rameshwaram temple. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
