Welcome to Hus Hammerstrand, a cosy and authentic holiday home in the small village of Krångede, near Hammerstrand in the beautiful region of Jämtland. If you're looking to experience the real Sweden, this is the perfect place. Instead of modern luxury, you'll find peace, nature and a charming traditional holiday home – ideal for anyone wanting to escape everyday life and discover the untouched beauty of northern Sweden.
The house was lovingly renovated in 2022, while preserving the characteristic East Jämtland style of the 1970s. Many original details have been retained, giving the house its unique atmosphere and authentic Swedish charm.
With approximately 54 m² of living space, Hus Hammerstrand is ideal for up to two adults and one child. It features one bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with a single bed, and a cosy living area where you can relax after a day outdoors.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay. The functional kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and a compact travel washing machine is available for smaller loads of laundry.
The bathroom includes a shower. A special feature of the house is the modern and environmentally friendly Separett toilet with electric ventilation, perfectly suited to the property's natural surroundings.
From mid-October until the end of April, fresh water is supplied via water containers, allowing the house to remain usable throughout the winter. Heating is provided by electric radiators and the traditional kitchen stove. Firewood can be purchased directly from the owners.
The 1,000 m² fenced garden offers plenty of space to relax. Up to two dogs are welcome, with additional dogs possible upon request.
The surrounding area is a paradise for nature lovers. A canoe can be rented for an additional fee, allowing you to explore the nearby lakes and rivers. Just a few minutes away flows the impressive Indalsälven, one of northern Sweden's best-known rivers and a popular destination for fishing and paddling. Fishing permits can also be purchased directly from the owners.
The Ragundadalen Valley offers fantastic hiking trails, geocaching routes and spectacular attractions such as Döda Fallet (The Dead Falls), the 30-metre-high Meåfallet waterfall, the Krångede Museum and the unique Thai Pavilion in Utanede. The Jamtli Open-Air Museum in Östersund and the Moose Park on Frösön are also well worth visiting.
During winter, the area becomes a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking, snowmobile tours and dog sledding. The owners are happy to help arrange these activities.
Hus Hammerstrand is a non-smoking holiday home. Bed linen and towels are included. Electricity is charged according to consumption (4 SEK/kWh) and settled against the refundable security deposit of 1,100 SEK.
