The Neighborhood:
The municipality of Houthalen-Helchteren, known for its unique natural beauty with beautiful forests and moors, dunes and meadows, has so much to offer. You can choose from a whole spectrum of recreational opportunities here, such as hiking, cycling, tours, water sports and other sports.

Houthalen is also ideally located for fun trips.
Hasselt, 'Capital of Taste', with its cozy shopping streets and restaurants, is 15 km (±20 min drive).
Genk, known for its cultural hotspots and shopping opportunities, is 10 km (±15 min drive).
For designer brands, Maasmechelen Village is highly recommended, at 25 km (±25 min drive).
In the neighborhood (Houthalen-Helchteren itself) you will also find various stores, restaurants and cafes to explore.
The center of Houthalen is located at 1.5 km.

The estates and vacation parks Kelchterhoef, Hengelhoef and Molenheide are in the vicinity and the open-air museum Bokrijk is definitely worth a visit.

Other Things to Note:
It is important to note that the villa is located in a residential area, with neighbors on both the left and right sides, as well as at the backside. Because of this, it is crucial to avoid noise pollution and respect the neighbors' sleep, so that complaints and police action can be avoided.
General rules in Belgium: loud noise audible between 22:00 and 07:00 can be reported to the police. Even during the day (between 07:00 and 22:00), noise nuisance is prohibited if it is not necessary and disturbs the peace of local residents. No speakers our loud noises at the swimming pool please.

- To maintain the pool and ensure its water quality, we regularly (sometimes daily) perform a short inspection of the pool. This only takes place in the garage and at the pool, never in the house itself. We notify you in advance and perform this inspection at appropriate times.

- The following coffee machines are available: Dolce Gusto and a filter coffee machine.
Don't forget to bring your own cups or ground coffee.
