Beautiful Spacious Apartment Near Downtown LA

Host did not send details of check-in until I reached out the morning of arrival. When we got into the apartment we immediately realized it wasn’t clean, there weren’t enough towels, no soaps or toiletries as promised, and the bed sheets seemed dirty. We found an old broken glass screen protector and hairs in our “clean” bed. There were no extra sheets or towels available in the property and the host did not respond to us about this until the following morning. It was also frustrating because we were told that a cleaning crew had been in the apartment the morning of our arrival, but it was dirty and did not appear to be cleaned in a while. We found many brown recluses and insects, and there’s a leak in the living room ceiling from the upstairs shower. We also ran into a neighbor who said they had seen the owner of the apartment cleaning it the morning of our arrival. We were not left with enough toilet paper for our larger party, and the overall stay had us wishing we had just booked a hotel room instead. This is a generous 3 star review, solely because we spent most of our days outside of the Vrbo exploring LA area. If we had to spend more time at home apart from having a bed to sleep at night, we would have been much more upset about the disconnect between what was promised/expected and what we actually got. The host gave us a list of rules to follow, including no loud music after 10pm but neighbors had music playing til 4am which was not appreciated. Very bare bones.
