El Sargento is a relaxed coastal community where desert scenery meets the sea. Spend your days kiteboarding, paddleboarding, exploring mountain biking trails, or simply enjoying the beach. Local restaurants offer places to refuel between adventures, while the area’s laid-back atmosphere makes it easy to slow down. Whether you’re here for time on the water or a quiet desert escape, 20 Knots is a comfortable base for exploring El Sargento and neighboring La Ventana.
Guests have private access to the entire 20 Knots home, including both bedrooms, the bathroom, kitchen, and living areas. There are no shared interior spaces, and hosts do not live on-site. Enjoy two private decks with bay views. Private guest storage locker with a smart lock includes SUP boards, beach chairs, sun shades, snorkel gear, a rolling cooler, and beach games—all available for your use. The property is fenced and gated. Parking is available inside the gate on the north side or along the road directly in front of the house.
20 Knots is a modern shipping container home in El Sargento, near La Ventana on Baja’s Sea of Cortez. Just 250 metres from the beach, it’s a comfortable base for kiteboarding, wing foiling, mountain biking, and relaxed days by the water. Large windows bring bay views into the main living area, while hand-painted murals by a local artist reflect the Baja setting. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare everything from a quick breakfast before an adventure to a leisurely dinner at home. Two bedrooms feature king-size Casper mattresses for a restful night after a day outdoors. The home has one bathroom, and our Bio-Aqua system treats wastewater for reuse through efficient deep-drip irrigation.
Outside, choose between two decks: gather around the firepit with teak seating on the lower deck, or stretch out in the hammock or daybed upstairs and take in the sweeping bay views. Complimentary SUPs and beach gear are available for your stay, along with secure storage for your own equipment. Local restaurants, taco stands, and kite schools are within a short drive. For exploring farther afield, allow approximately 45 minutes to La Paz and two hours to San José del Cabo, depending on traffic and your destination. The Infinity Game Table offers another way to unwind at home.

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), in San José del Cabo, is approximately a two-hour drive from the property. You can rent a car or arrange an airport transfer. La Paz International Airport (LAP) is another option, approximately 45–60 minutes away by car.

We continue to look for ways to reduce our environmental footprint and preserve the beauty of El Sargento and the surrounding area. This place is amazing, one of the nicest and most comfortable places I have ever stayed, anywhere! Great kitchen, modern everything, very comfortable beds and furniture - even the bathroom is beautifully done, very spacious with a great shower. Incredible view of the bay from every room. Then there are the upstairs and downstairs decks, both of them have comfy seating and incredible views - plus amazing stargazing from the hammock on the upper deck. We were in LaVentana for wingfoiling, and this is an ideal place to stay, very close to the launch called La Tuna. Be aware that you will be on a dirt road, but it is fine for 2WD and part of the charm of this area. Restaurants and a well-stocked grocery store are a very short drive away. Very quiet are at night. Highly recommended!!
