The Perfect Beach Getaway – Medlands Beach
Escape to our off-grid tiny house, located on a peaceful one-acre block just moments from the stunning Medlands Beach. This cozy retreat offers everything you need for a relaxing island getaway.
It’s also conveniently centrally located - just a 5-10 minute drive from the airport, 20 minutes from the ferry, and within walking distance of Aotea Brewing, the island’s top spot for craft beer, great food, and barista coffee.
The space
Our sun-soaked house features a fully equipped kitchen and a comfy lounge with a fireplace, while the separate adjacent cabin serves as your private bedroom. The bathroom, also detached, includes a shower, composting toilet, and vanity.
We have an outdoor couch and sun umbrella, as well as a picnic table for outdoor dining.
We have great wifi connection with Starlink and good reception with Vodafone / One, and a work space / desk if needed (though you may prefer to switch off!)
Located on a quiet street, our home is centrally located for easy access around the island. It is a 3 minute walk to Medlands Beach.
With great surf and a beautiful beach right at your doorstep, this is the perfect spot to unwind, explore, and experience the beauty of Aotea.
We have 2 mountain bikes available for guests to use.
Other things to note
Please note that our home, like the rest of the island, is fully off-grid. Our water comes from a rainwater tank, and our power is solar-generated with battery storage. We kindly ask guests to be mindful of their water and power use to help sustain these resources.
We have easy, flat vehicle access to the property. No 4WD is required.
