Plenty of space for the whole family, great location, easy walking distance to the beach
Description did not make it clear the house had 3 split levels - so a bit tricky for our 80 year old grandfather. There was a security camera on the front door, the host confirmed it was live during our stay - this camera allowed the host to watch us coming and going from the property, and into the living area which we were uncomfortable with

‘Sandcastles’ is just lovely - lots of different open spaces - we particularly enjoyed the light-filled ‘attic’ living room and the back deck. We loved that it was just a short walk to North Avoca Beach. North Avoca was a real find for us too with its cafe and great corner store. Cath was a great host, very responsive and had some excellent suggestions for things to see and do in the area.

We had a great time at this house. We cooked meals together, spent the dry days at the beach, and really appreciated having multiple spaces in the house where we could enjoy some quiet personal time in between. The home is clearly presented with love and care, and it gave us the impression that the owners genuinely enjoy spending time there themselves.
The only downside was that the clean prior to our arrival felt a little rushed. There were still stains in the fridge and on some appliances from previous guests, as well as spiders and noticeable dust in some corners, blinds, and on the windows. We chose not to raise this at the time, but we were later charged an additional fee for dog hair left behind, which felt a bit disappointing given the condition on arrival.
