Very nice, large clean house right in the middle of Aberdeen but the street itself is very quiet, even though it has a few pubs/bars a few doors away. Early C19th house renovated very recently and everything was in very good condition. Spacious and with three separate bathrooms, large dining room, courtyard area outside.
Five bedrooms, suitable for large group or extended family. Two bedrooms are in the basement.
- There was a basket which looked like it might have some welcome items in it but it was empty. I messaged the company who said they didn't offer welcome packs so I'm not sure why it was there.
- No information about parking was provided on booking.com but we established from other websites where this property is hosted that it comes with two private spaces. We did not get this information when we booked but it was provided when we asked. The spaces are a few minutes walk away on the other side of Union Street and the entry barrier stopped working while we were there. It's good to have these spaces but they should make sure the information provided on booking.com reflects this and the relevant information is provided on booking.
- There was no information provided on booking or in the accommodation about waste disposal or bin collections. The relevant bins are around the side of the neighbouring house on Diamond Street.
- The kitchen equipment, cutlery, crockery is all a bit odd. There are some what look like antique pieces of glassware etc laid out in the main dining room, which look interesting but aren't very functional. A larger number eg of regular glasses, dishes etc would have been helpful, as would things like baking trays that enable proper use of the kitchen.
Overall, this is a great space and we enjoyed our stay, especially for the quality of the renovation, cleanliness, and location. But it would be helpful if the letting company would provide more basic information, ensuring this is consistent across websites, and be attentive to what makes the accommodation livable with regard to cooking and dining.
