Its location is perfect, so close to everything, metro, restaurants, downtown, stores. It’s a very comfortable place to stay in.

Everything was great! There was some noise, but it’s normal for such a central apartment.

The location was excellent — just a couple hundred yards from the UQAM Metro, an easy 1/3 mile walk to Old Montreal, and surrounded by tons of great “terrasse” restaurants and bars within a few blocks. The building itself is really old but easy to access with a door code. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (2nd floor by European standards) — two flights of stairs and no elevator. Inside, the place was very clean and recently updated. It’s definitely a city-sized apartment. Basically a living room with a galley kitchen and a bedroom facing Rue St-Denis, around 12’ x 30’ total. Overall, an excellent base for exploring the city, especially if you don’t mind a bit of old-building charm and the usual sounds of city/apartment living.

The original wood floors have character but are aquardly slanted and creaky. The heat comes from very old style water radiators, which made the rooms warm and stuffy even when “off,” and it was tricky to get fresh air since the windows didn’t open easily. The very old window AC helped, but took constant finessing to get right. There was some typical city/apartment living noise, the occasional very loud late-night/early morning passersby from Rue St-Denis, along with nightly late-night heavy footsteps from unit above, the nightly radiating music died down from the unit next door about 11 pm — but this is "sort of" to be expected for "apartment" living and a prime downtown Montreal location directly adjacent to collage campus.

Très bien situé, à moins de 3min à pieds de la station de métro Berry-UQAM. Décoration moderne.
