Calla Vale - 3 Bed House Incredible Valley Views

We had a wonderful stay! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. The location was great and made getting around very easy. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in and check-out seamless. We’d absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Perfectly located on the high side, well off the road and just on the edge of town, we spent 4 nights in this country retreat. There is a modern kitchen, large living/dining space and three comfortably carpeted bedrooms (the master bedroom with ensuite). The main living area looks out across the valley to the hills beyond. A wide sunny deck across the front invites you to relax and take in the views. Good wifi, a large TV with foxtel/streaming options and a cosy wood fire (only a small amount of firewood available). Kitchen is set up well with coffee-pod machine, and even a popcorn machine, plenty of utensils, a dishwasher and soap, but only one microfibre cloth and one tea towel and no pot scrubber or brush.

I have to say that judging from the excellent photographs, we were a little disappointed with the finish and cleanliness in some areas. But after being in contact with the owner she was able to redress these issues. A couple of other potential problems included entry to the front door which is halfway up the side of the house, accessed via a set of steps made up with poorly maintained and loose rocks/pebbles. Also, the internal stairs up to the bedrooms and the two toilets (which are both on the upper split level) have no handrail or balustrade to prevent a fall. We felt quite insecure each time we used them. However, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Being picky just for others thinking about booking. house is beautiful and awesome for families. We were a family of 4 then grandparents. we would have loved a hand rail for parents on the stairs and the beanbag chairs were perfect for us but a struggle for Mum and Dad. and as I’m a princess perhaps more comfy beds in the room with 2 singles. As I say being picky though.

The location is perfect and the style exceptional. We stayed 3 nights and wished we could stay longer. Being set back from the road it was quiet (not that the road is that busy anyway) and the village with all its amenities is easily walkable. Highlights are the Friendly Pub, the wine store, the bakery, the Pioneer Museum and the pie shop. Seriously - best pies in NSW! As the title suggests the views of the valley from the balcony and living area are stunning and the walking at places such as Fitzroy Falls is breathtaking. The host was helpful beyond belief and the whole experience was special.
