Stylish loft in heart of Plateau

The host was very helpful and the apartment was perfect for the price. It's more like a studio apartment, with a fully open concept with a bathroom off of the kitchen. There's only the main entry door, and then a sliding door by the bed (no other doors/windows). The laundry is in a different, locked room off of the main apartment hallway (it's shared), so you need to acquire the key, which we did, after contacting the landlord (as it was not in the lockbox). The distance to Bixi bikes, the metro (subway) and shops was very close and easy. The water was amazingly hot and the bathtub was big! I, personally, loved the view from the patio as it showed beautiful tree branches clinging to the opposite wall making it's way from the ground floor all the way up to the roof (past the 3rd floor), and as the days passed and the weather warmed up, it sprouted leaves over the entire wall. It was an amazing transformation. Please note, the laundry is Canadian $1 coin for a wash and then another for the dryer, alternatively there are 2 laundromats within a short walk from the apartment. Also note, the apartment is on the 2nd floor at the top of steep stairs, there is no elevator. We didn't mind this, except on the first and last day when I had to move luggage :) We really appreciated the host's responsiveness to our questions and the convenience of being so close to so many options in Mont Royal.

I would have preferred to know about the laundry situation up front. It wasn't clear from the listing that the washer/dryer was NOT inside the apartment and then we had to sign an agreement and then get the key and then pay to do laundry. I understand the need for the agreement and since it is shared, the need to pay for it to cover maintenance costs. But, knowing that in advance would have allowed me to be better prepared (coins) and it took a few days to get the laundry key. Since our stay was long, I would personally prefer a few more items to the kitchen (measuring cups/spoons, shot glasses and some spices - salt, pepper etc). These things are easily purchased nearby, so, it's not a deal breaker, just a nice amenity. :)
