The Cabins at Douglas Scrub

Secured gate access only available with code provided, so that was reassuring. Instructions were very clear as was the communication in the lead up to our arrival. We liked being about 5 kms from McLaren Vale, so we stocked up with food before we arrived. It's located opposite a winery and was really quite at night with no road traffic noise. Beds were so comfortable and all facilities were very adequate. There were games for kids. Oh oh, and we had 2 large Kangaroos show up unannounced, and a family of ducks. Didn't realise how close we were to all the wineries (we did a spontaneous visit to 'the Cube") and other towns (visited Strathalbyn), Hahndorf and and Mt Lofty (summit and Botanical Gardens), passing charming small villages along the way. Room for kids to go and explore or play outside within a secured location. Loved the coffee pods, really appreciated. Would suit families, couples for a weekend or longer to explore the region more.

Just couldn't lock the toilet door (the latch would not work properly, however the cabins smelt like they were very recently built so could be just teething issues. Perhaps consider a washing machine/dryer option to be included on the premises, as there is plenty of space available on sight.

Host kept in contact via email and the instructions were great. Location was beautiful and very safe and calm

The cabins were modern, clean, well laid out and very well stocked.

Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Easy to find and access. Lots of parking space and lots of space between cabins giving privacy. Good supply of cleaning products. Comfortable beds. Separate toilet to bathroom good for 4 people.

Needed to provide extra tea towels. Would be good to have a hand towel for toilet basin and kitchen. Information on location of rubbish bind would have been helpful.
