Modern Suite, Excellent Location in the heart of Bergen

The room is very nice and in an excellent location - very close to all the tourist sites we visited! It’s more of a very large hotel-type suite (as advertised) with a good sized kitchen, rather than not an apartment. We loved the view of the historic church from the window, and the close proximity to Bryggen and the funicular. Parking garage was very close and reasonable (host provided good instructions). Would very much recommend and we’d stay again if visiting Bergen.

Lighting is very dim, esp. in the bed area; bright ceiling lights would help when needed for unpacking, etc. There was only one outlet next to the bed and a dim light already used 1/2; we had to run extension cords, etc. - good thing we had them (the room should). Also was only one small bed stand, nothing on the narrow other side. Getting the keys was difficult, as the instructions showed a pic of the front door and how to get the key from the lockbox - and there WAS a lockbox right at the front door. The instructions said nothing about ignoring that lockbox, deciphering all the other pics (with no explanation) going down a side path to another lockbox hidden on a fence near some bushes. This was very frustrating to figure out with inadequate instructions, requiring a phone call and more pictures (this time annotated with arrows showing the path). Kind of like a treasure hunt, in the rain, in the dark, after a long drive. But the host helped us through it; thank goodness we got ahold of him.

Location, cleanliness, shower, space for our things, TV, wifi, windows!!, location, dishwasher, after eight mint, extra bits in the cupboard and fridge, did I mention location?

L'emplacement de l'appartement est parfait. Il est dans le centre, tout en restant dans un endroit calme. L'appartement est bien équipé et la petite touche personnelle est appréciable. Le lit est confortable.

Fabulous location only a short walk away from harbor and Bryggen site. St. Mary’s Kirkje right across the street, with a lovely view! Easy walk to everything including Fløibanen, bakeries, grocery stores, etc. The beautiful old neighborhood just north of the apartment is absolutely charming. Very clean, comfortable and well-furnished modern apartment. Everything IKEA, so if you ever wanted to know what it’s like to live in an IKEA home, you will find out! Cozy! Nice shower temperature and pressure. More than enough linens and towels, all supplies plentiful. Super-friendly hosts communicated everything so well. Since access to the apartment key was a little tricky (kind of a treasure hunt to find the right key box, though photos were provided), Fredrik was very kind in promptly phoning me to help after I messaged him about my difficulty. It was my fault for not carefully checking the photos they sent. After that, no issues at all. Fredrik and Andrea were very helpful in suggesting an appropriate garage for our rental car, about 15 minutes’ walk from the apartment, as well as their favorite bakeries, which I had asked about. There is a laundry room in the basement which could be very helpful for anyone staying more than a few days.

Would have liked a guide to the stove and oven buttons, not easy to figure out on my own, therefore some leftover pizza went to waste since I was uncomfortable not knowing how to use the oven. It was too late in the evening to call our hosts. I would suggest a one-page laminated sign in the kitchen, so that one doesn’t have to ask. Not really a criticism, though!
