A perfect, peaceful base for a stay in center, near to old town with an amazing host
I visited Jaipur for a half marathon, and Shafar Manzil was the perfect choice. The room was unique, charming and very ethnic with curated artefacts. Has an AC and Heater (both which I did not use). The house was walking distance to the venue, which made things very easy. The host was incredibly supportive from the start. He helped me with an early check-in and guided me over the phone when I arrived at the railway station—even offering to come pick me up! For people who want to visit old town (Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Bapu market. etc), this location is on the periphery and 20 mins walking distance. Shahzeb's hospitality was warm and genuine. He offered me tea and breakfast (which I gracefully declined as I don't eat during the day) and even dropped me at a location I needed to visit later. The house has a peaceful, green ambience and a friendly dog - oh I miss him. If I go for next year's marathon, I may restay :) Host may open a cafe in near future - all the best! A decent, comfortable place with an amazing host. Definitely go for it.
A very very minor point for improvement: there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, or maybe I did not look for it. I didn't bother to ask, as I am not finicky, and that I carry my own, but it would be good to check for future guests - especially any foreign guests. I could not think of anything else. Overall, a very good stay with excellent hospitality.
