Room 1 Riad Khadija

Loved the location -- it was close to everything, not too deep into the medina and easy to find. I saw a lot of folks in the comments not liking the fact that you have to knock to be let into the hotel, but that's quite common with some smaller Moroccan hotels. My experience was that the staff were attentive and opened the doors quickly, even when I returned later at night. The breakfast was really delicious and different than what you usually get in hotels. I appreciated the variety of options!

The little locks on the doors were hard to figure out, but the staff helped me figure it out.

La decoración

El trato no fue del todo agradable. Reservé una habitación para dos personas. Nos tuvieron en la "recepción" más de 30 minutos, nos pudieron los pasaportes. No teníamos ni idea de francés, yo utilizaba google traductor para decirles que que estaba pasando. El chico que nos atendió no se molestó en hacer uso de mi móvil para comunicarse con nosotras. Lo único que nos decía es que yo si tenía reserva pero mi pareja no. Tras más de media hora sin saber qué pasaba, nos dejaron pasar, no antes sin pagar unos impuestos. No fueron nada agradables, a diferencia del dueño, que lo tratamos durante unos minutos y nada tenía que ver. No volvería a repetir en este alojamiento únicamente por el trato tan desagradable y poco amable que tuvimos.

Pas de clef pour la porte principale, obliger de sonner pour rentrer et donc parfois attendre et surtout entendre à toute heure la sonnerie. Salle de bain étroite

Slightly strange at the start. On entry we were kept in a “holding pen” the size of a toilet until check in was complete. Every other Riad on our trip couldn’t get us in and comfortable quick enough. When shown our room, it had a very strong odor of drains/bad plumbing. We brought this up and the manager (said he couldn’t smell anything, and dealt with this in a manner that made my wife feel uncomfortable for having asked) offered us other empty rooms. We took an upstairs one that had external windows in the bedroom and bathroom. Seemed better but not perfect, however when we came back to the Riad after dinner the room smelt very bad again, even with all the windows open. There were no curtains in the bedroom so you could see straight into the bedroom from the hallway, and the streetlight outside shone right into the bedroom, so we ‘borrowed’ some other bedsheets to hang on the windows. Not ideal. Overall didn’t want to spend our last night in Morocco at this place so we left the next morning. Hopefully they spend the money from our stay on some plumbing fixing or curtains. Some of the artwork left my wife feeling uncomfortable (multiple nude/ suggestive female pieces throughout)
