Stylish City-Centre Stay

The flat was ideally situated for central Chelmsford.

A large one-bedroom apartment comprising a large double bedroom and enormous lounge and bathroom. The room was on the third floor but was accessible both by stairs and a lift. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with two hobs, a full-sized oven, washing machine, microwave and a large fridge/freezer. The double bed in the bedroom was on the soft side, but the double sofa-bed was much firmer. There was plenty of windows throughout, all of which could be opened to provide cooling breezes, (we stayed there during a heatwave). There was ample storage space in the bedroom from a full-sized wardrobe and chest of drawers and a small drawer in the single bedside table. The bedroom also had a powerful, if somewhat noisy fan which was much appreciated. As we ate and drank virtually nothing apart from glasses of water we did not investigate the supply of crockery or cutlery. The property is located in the centre of Chelmsford and so is not particularly quiet, with noise from late night revelers and noise from nearby businesses and gulls early in the morning. There were ample power points in the lounge/kitchen area, but no USB outlets. Being in the city centre there is a multitude of dining and shopping facilities within a very short walk.

The sheets on both beds were made of man-made fibres which could be useful in winter, but were a significant issue during a heatwave as they radiated heat back to the sleeper, The plug in the kitchen sink did not seal the sink so that washing up had to be performed using running water. There was no plug at all in the bathroom sink, making shaving difficult. There were only four power points in the bedroom all of which were already assigned to appliances when we arrived, (TV, fan, bedside lamp and an electric air freshener - we unplugged the air freshener). A four-socket "gang-box" would be a cheap way to resolve this. There was no dishwashing cloth in the kitchen. The refrigerator was very noisy. This is only an issue for someone sleeping on the sofa-bed.

A lovely flat in the centre of Chelmsford with a large kitchen/lounge area, large TV, separate bathroom and a decent sized bedroom. I stayed the night before an exam at the nearby Pearson test centre, and the location was ideal for both this and for Chelmsford rail station - both around 4 minutes walk away.

I stayed on a Friday night and there was a bit of noise from the city centre pubs etc. However, this wasn't a major issue and is to be expected for a city centre location. The fact the flat is on the top floor does help reduce any noise.

Der var meget varmt og med vinduer åbne var der meget larm fra meget, samt fra lastbiler og ankommende folk til shopping center lige overfor. Endvidere bad vi om at måtte checke ind tidligere, men forespørgslen blev aldrig besvaret. Der var en intern fejl der gjorde at de troede vi kun var 2 i stedet for 3, så der blev først redt op til 3. Mand senere, ok. Der var dog stadig kun 2 håndklæder. Dobbeltsengen var meget lille og ikke ret bred til 2 voksne.
