Inspiration room, lake, mountains, balcony in Montreux city center

The owner is really nice, and it doesn’t miss anything for a short stay. I really enjoyed my stay there. Really recommend this property!

This is in a great location. Only 4 mins from the station but beware it is very steep to get too. But you can take a bus and the host offers to pick you up.

I'm being as transparent as possible here, pleaae read below and see the text message converstation. This was not the place we expected. You are in a room in a greater household with a shared bathroom and kitchen. You can't lock the door to your own room to keep your belongings safe. The host lives in the house with you. The shared area cleanliness is based on the other tenants and as per a message from the host "Always keep in mind that shared era are as clean as the last guest leave it." Indicating nobody cleans the communal areas between or during stays. The kitchen, bedroom and living room /dining area were extremely cluttered with almost no room to put any of your items. There were drying racks in the dining room, with no room to move around or sit and eat. Based on this we were skeptical the last time sheets were washed or the place was cleaned. The host couldn't meet us, so left a bag with the keys beside the door. Upon arriving the keys weren't in the bag, we then texted the host, in which we were told to knock to get the other tenants attention so she could let us in. She clearly didn't know or expect to be asked to do this and was quite flustered. We felt very uncomfortable and left the accomodation shortly after arriving. We did not stay for the 2 nights we paid for.

Location close to train station, bakery and restaurants. Very friendly proprietor. Easy to find. Shared facilities. Good value.

Shared Bathroom was the only trouble

Great location for view of lake and mountains. The kitchen was good to use. The kettle and coffee in my room was real nice to have. Mouloud is a very kind and helpful host. He invited his guests to a pasta dinner, which was delicious! He goes out of his way to help guests with rides to the train station and helps with luggage. A very nice and kind man.

To no fault of Mouloud, the streets in Montreux are very steep and can be confusing to navigate. The stairs up to the apartment are steep and narrow. The bathroom is narrow and tricky to use when 3 people share it. The room I had has bunk beds and the top bed was prepared for me as it's the widest one. At my age and sore knee I did not want to use it. So he kindly prepared the bottom bed for me, which was narrow. I would suggest a proper bed for the room unless you have a specific need for bunk beds. That's a big reason I don't stay in hostels and why I pay extra for proper rooms. These are very minor and didn't affect stay.

The room was lovely, we were welcomed in with open arms and the balcony was so lovely with a stunning view. We had a fan set up in the room which was definitely needed, tea and coffee making facilities were presented in the room, I slept very well and so did my mum, as the beds were very comfortable. We had our own little space in the fridge for food. We had some chats as to what to do in the area, he was very friendly and didn't feel like we couldn't ask him for help if we needed it.

The kitchen in all honesty could've been cleaner.

Great location. Good balcony view. The host was very kind and helpful. Good stay for very short pit stops or for solo travellers.

The room photos shown had two beds but we were checked in a room with bunk beds. The room was small, very cluttered and messy with owners stuff. Loads of books and stuff everywhere. We had very little room for our luggage.
