About this cottage rental

Escape the daily grind at this unique and relaxing rural retreat: an island of almond trees surrounded by pines, in the foothills of the Sierra Espuña—a place to enjoy the silence and tranquility, the stars at night, or a multitude of nature trails and activities. And all of this with paved access and just 2 km from a town with all the amenities you need.

After the renovation, we’ve set up the house so that everything is to your liking: 3 bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, 2 kitchens and 2 bathrooms, and a porch that opens onto a yard where you’ll find everything you need—especially the barbecue area—for an ideal stay in a natural setting that’s hard to find in the region. Here is the ROOM LAYOUT:

- THE APARTMENT: It is a studio apartment with a kitchen, a separate bathroom with a shower, a closet/storage room, and a sofa bed (sleeps 2), facing the barbecue area, attached to the House but with separate access.

- THE HOUSE. It is a ground-floor unit, attached to the one above, with the following layout:

- Bedroom 1: Double bed and single bed: 3 people.
- Bedroom 2: Double bed and bunk bed: 2 adults + 2 children (the bunk bed is not suitable for adults).
- Living room with a fireplace (with built-in oven), a dining table that extends to seat 12 people, and a chaise-long sofa (which can be unfolded to accommodate one or two additional people. If you’d like to use it, please contact me; these two people are not included in the total occupancy listed in the ad).
- Kitchen open to the living room with oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, juicer, electric kettle, Italian coffee maker...
- 1 bathroom with a shower and glass shower enclosure.

FOR COOKING: We have everything you need, both in the house kitchen and in the apartment kitchen—take your pick—or if you’d rather cook outdoors, check out the BARBECUE area.

For smaller groups or couples, you can rent just one of the two accommodations—either the apartment or the house—without having to share the property with other guests. You have my contact information if you have any questions.

** PROPERTY (fenced along its entire perimeter):

- Just outside the house, there’s a spacious porch with an outdoor table that extends up to 2.70 m and reclining chairs.

- There is parking space for up to 7 cars.

- BARBECUE AREA. Everything you need to host a successful meal with friends: A shaded area with a barbecue featuring all kinds of grills, a wood-fired oven, a sink with hot water, a spacious counter, a cork-lined cooler, a gas ring (we provide frying pans and paella pans in various sizes), stools, tables, chairs...

- TEA CORNER. In the shade of a carob tree, we’ve created a special spot to relax and have a drink, complete with a table and four chairs.

- LAUNDRY ROOM. In the back, in a covered area, you’ll find a laundry room and a place to hang laundry, complete with a washing machine and a sink for hand-washing.

- OUR SKY. Without a doubt one of the best parts of your stay—enjoying a sky free of light pollution is an experience you’ll never forget (we’ve purchased some lounge chairs that are perfect for this).

- You can set up a hammock among the pine trees on the property to enjoy the tranquility and peace of the place.

- OUTDOOR FURNITURE: We have enough tables, chairs, and stools to accommodate the needs of your group and your guests, if any, in addition to the built-in seating we’ve created around the barbecue, the tea corner, and the various benches, which you’re welcome to use as you please.

- PETS: If you’re traveling with your pets, they’ll have plenty of space here to run freely and safely, as well as ample shaded and grassy areas. We also provide food and water bowls. If you need anything in this regard, please don’t hesitate to ask—we’ll be happy to help.

** OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

- The property is surrounded by pine trees, and next to them, our neighbors have built a children’s play area with a trampoline, a straw house, logs and wheels to jump over, chairs to rest on, and more. If you’re coming with your “little ones,” they’re sure to love it. In any case, we have games and books for them inside the house.

- Wi-Fi: We offer Wi-Fi so you can work without any problems in an idyllic setting—surrounded by pine trees, with views and tranquility that will surprise you.

- SHOPPING AND OTHER SERVICES: Pliego is 2 km away, with a supermarket open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the year, including holidays, in addition to the basic amenities of a small town (including a pharmacy, tobacco shop, gas station, and great tapas bars...). And 9 km away is Mula, where you’ll find all the amenities you need.

- HIKING. Surrounding the almond groves are vast pine-covered hills and mountains with many hiking trails that start right from the house, so you don’t even have to take the car. Plus, throughout the mountain range, you’ll find countless trails of varying difficulty levels and settings.

- Going for a run in the surrounding area is an experience you won’t forget if you’re not used to running in nature.

- If you’re a cycling enthusiast, this is the place for you; there won’t be a weekend that goes by without several “small groups” passing by the house—you might even want to join them; the area is great for it.

- If you’re looking to go caving, you’ll be amazed by the recently discovered Sima de la Higuera. And if you’re interested in archaeology, you’ll love La Almoloya—just to name a couple of examples of activities beyond taking a walk, going for a run in the countryside, or hopping on your bike...

- If you’re foodies who love good dining, just ask me—there’s too much to list here. The same goes if you want to visit a winery in Bullas or buy some high-quality local wine.

- The area around Pliego isn’t just the Sierra Espuña Regional Park. To the north, you’ll find towns like Caravaca de la Cruz, Calasparra, Moratalla, Bullas, Mula, and Cehegín, each offering countless activities on their own. It’s no wonder that the northwestern part of the Region of Murcia has been a popular tourist destination for years, offering not only natural attractions, such as its natural pools and swimming spots, but also the chance to visit wineries, discover fantastic culinary gems, enjoy the local people and their hidden villages, or visit one of the world’s most important religious destinations: The Basilica of La Vera Cruz in Caravaca (not to mention the spectacular visit to the Shrine of the Virgin of Hope in Calasparra). These are just a few examples; we’ll provide you with detailed information based on your interests.
