Noise building work. But that was unfortunate and unforeseen by the landlord. Also the stairs were so narrow to get with suitcases. Not a problem at all if you travel light.

The property offers a great view and an excellent location, while also being quite spacious and comfortable. The washing machine works very well, which is a great convenience. While the kitchen is very basically fitted—with only one pot and one pan, for example—it is perfectly fine for one or two people who only plan to do very minimal cooking. On the whole, the price is great for the location and the view you get.

However, the place needed a thorough cleaning; it had some crumbs, leftover food, and trash, making it look like it only received a fresh change of sheets, towels, and a quick floor sweep. There are also some odd quirks, like a missing handle on the bathroom window that prevents it from shutting, though I eventually found the handle sitting in a random drawer. Additionally, I encountered a cockroach, which the manager claims is normal for Malta, so take that for what it is. To make matters worse, a bag of garbage was left to rot on the stairs; though the manager finally came to remove it himself, it left a trail of foul garbage liquid all over the stairwell.

Bed was awful… new mattress desperately needed. Doors at building and apartment entrances were very difficult to open.
