Disappointing

Comfortable bed, clean and large, airy space with parking

1. Directions inaccurate 2. Still a building site 3. Not quite a ‘rural retreat’ 4. Host communication poor 5. Wi-Fi doesn’t work well 6. Cold and unsure of being able to use fireplace ( no logs provided as per photo. Host did not engage or return queries) 7. Well equipped kitchen but frying pan very small.

Very comfortable, cosy and earm

Very poor internet connection, unable to watch TV via a fire stick. Hopefully internet provider(s) will improve next year as I hope to stay there again next Xmas.

Spacious, clean and comfortable. Lovely location. Good value for money Quiet.

I arrived in the dark and it was therefore very difficult to find as it’s up a lane / country lane which has no lighting. Parking was a bit tight as I was in a van so didn’t fit in the garage under the property. The tv signal was poor so couldn’t screen the included fire stick without buffering.

Lovely place.

Lovely, modern first floor apartment with woodburner. Parking underneath the apartment. The place was spotlessly clean and warm, even without the woodburner. . Comfortable bed. Immaculate bathroom. Lovely village (The Village Inn and The Running Fox both worth a visit) Two phone calls to the owners promptly answered and requests dealt with.

There was nothing we didn't like but a few things we would have liked EG... Clearer directions to the property Instructions on how to use the TV Instructions on how to use the induction hob. Dustpan and brush to clean up round the woodburner (sorry for the bit of mess) Apologies if these were available and we missed them. Didn't want to ring again!!

Perfect place to stay to break up a long journey from South to North!

Well equipped kitchen for a self catered overnight stay. Oil, salt and pepper, coffee tea etc all there for your use. Comfy bed and very efficient heating in the apartment.

One little thing as some other reviewers have mentioned, would be good to have a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang your towel whilst showering. Also perhaps to mention that you need to look for a different house name to locate the rental. But very responsive when contacted and really helpful to locate the property.

A nice property and good value for money

The property was clean and tidy. It was comfortable for relaxing in after time out exploring and visiting different places during the day. It was really good value for money for a few nights away.

There was nothing we didn’t like specifically. There might be a few suggestions we would make about having more guest information in the property. But that is not a major issue.

Lovely relaxing break at a beautiful property with very accommodating hosts.

What a beautiful modern property! Quiet location, beautiful houses around, rural location, host Dianne was very friendly and accommodating, from staying on the phone to talk us in when we were lost, to providing a toothbrush as I had forgotten one! Always on hand for anything needed, without being intrusive. Provisions provided in fridge and kitchen for us. Great TV with lots to watch. Short walk to the local pub. Wonderful.

Lovely apartment for one or two people.

Problem was finding Rural Retreat there was no sign outside to say it was here .We tried to contact the host twice and did not get an answer .We luckily by chance found it . Parking was good .

Lack of signage . Thought a gate was needed at the top of the stairs for safety . Was unable to sign into the Wi-Fi despite many attempts . Place was clean although we did find a medicine tablet next to the bed .

it was such a nice property it looked new and the host welcomed us

this is not a complaint as it did not spoil our stay but when we went it was very hot so a sheet to put on the bed as only a duvet and maybe a free standing fan

Good value accommodation in Northumberland

Accommodation was good value for the area. Spacious living room kitchenette. Bed comfy and use of the pool for an hour was nice.

Silly things that could so easily be rectified. No book explaining how things work. I have never used an induction hob before, so it took a bit to figure out. Dirty cups and no dishwasher tablets plus the wood burner hadn't been cleaned out and really cheap nasty cutlery and a not great shower, tainted it. All really little things, but they all add up.

Perfect getaway in the countryside!

Fantastic little flat perfect for a night or two. Lovely and warm at night, kitchen was great and cooker was easy to use. My only complaint and it’s not a big deal was the shower having next to no pressure but was still useable. The owner was super lovely and friendly. 100% would stay again!
