Castionetto, a small village in the central Valtellina, is situated on the slopes of a medieval tower, on a sunny terrace with a magnificent view of the valley and the Orobic Pre-Alps. It is surrounded by forests, vineyards, olive groves, and apple orchards. It is crossed by several trails, such as the Strada del Vino and the Via dei Terrazzamenti, and is just a few kilometers from the Sentiero Valtellina.
The village has a small grocery store and two restaurants serving typical Valtellina specialties such as pizzoccheri and sciatt; one of them is also a pizzeria.
