The Hotel Sonne-Post is located in the idyllic mountain village of Waldau—a traditional Black Forest family-run business brimming with charm, warmth, and coziness. Since 1870, we’ve been offering Baden-style hospitality in a warm and family-like atmosphere. To ensure you feel completely at home during your vacation, our hotel rooms and vacation apartments are spacious, feature plenty of wood, and are comfortably equipped (including Wi-Fi and HD TV). From the balconies, you can enjoy a unique view of the mountains and valleys of the Upper Black Forest. With our new pool and sauna area (indoor pool, children’s pool, Finnish sauna, sauna complex, and infrared seats), we’d like to offer you an additional way to unwind. We’ve created a place for well-being and relaxation—even when the sun isn’t shining. Our regional cuisine is renowned far beyond the borders of the Upper Black Forest for being excellent and down-to-earth. Waldau is an ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in the summer, as well as cross-country skiing (starting right at the hotel) and downhill skiing (ski lift and ski school in town) in the winter. Our “Stammhaus” family apartment measures 48 square meters, is cozily situated under the sloping roof, features a very spacious layout, and is furnished in a cozy Black Forest style. It includes a second bedroom with an HD flat-screen TV. The family apartment is equipped with a sitting area, desk, HD flat-screen TV, radio, direct-dial phone, free Wi-Fi, minibar, private safe, wool blankets, bathrobe, shower and bathroom/toilet, hair dryer, and cosmetic mirror.
