“Porvorose” is a lovely Caribbean-styled villa nestled on a 0.5-acre parcel amongst beautiful tropical gardens. Enjoy unsurpassed views overlooking Falmouth Harbour. This three bedroom, three bathroom 3800 sq. ft. villa is ideally located just minutes from historic English Harbour
Located in Roses Estate, Porvorose sits on 0.5 acres with truly magnificent views over Falmouth and the South coast of Antigua. The property is accessed by a private driveway off the access road with a double car port and ample parking spaces for several cars. The entrance is through a shady courtyard to the open plan main level living and dining area. The Villa has three bedrooms in total with two bedrooms and two bathrooms up and a self-contained one-bedroom apartment down. The priority is rented out as a two (upstairs) or a three bedroomed villa (upstairs plus the one bedroom studio apartment downstairs).
Porvorose offers true, outdoor-indoor Caribbean living at its best. A fully-equipped galley style kitchen and island breakfast bar, are immediately adjacent to the spacious living area. Both, the kitchen and living room flow freely out to the covered verandah, complete with dining and sitting lounge and the 10 ft. X 20 ft. swimming pool. The views from this main home are simply stunning.
A spacious master bedroom and bathroom is to one side and the second bedroom with ensuite bathroom is to the opposite side of the central area. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are brightly decorated in vibrant Caribbean hues, overlooking the mature tropical landscaped gardens which surround the villa.
Steps lead down to the lower level self-contained, one-bedroom cottage with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and bedroom with king bed and ensuite bathroom. Louvred doors open wide to create an indoor-outdoor feel and there is a private patio for relaxing and enjoying outdoor dining.
Attractive stone steps and walkway lead you leisurely to the tasteful gardens. The garden features mature plantings and a large variety of tropical trees and flowering shrubs. Enjoy a peaceful moment reading your favourite book. Or simply delight in admiring the surroundings of this serene and soothing space.
There is a standby generator in case of a cut in government power supply, and a fresh water cistern. The entrance courtyard has a utility room equipped with washing machine and clothes drying area. The house was great -- fully equipped kitchen and plenty of towels and linens were provided. Everything was clean and in good working order. The view is absolutely spectacular. Close to shops and to the bars and restaurants in English Harbour.Our only comment, which has nothing to do with the house, is that the road to access the property is on a steep 45 incline (not exaggerating!) We had no issues, but for those not familiar with the roads in Antigua, this will take some getting used to.
