Roof Top House

The host was friendly and amazing. Gave us free Lamu tips and more, the room was clean, got a scenic Lamu beach view side and the cost gave a good value for money. I totally recommend.

Rroof Top House is in an excellent lication, within easy walking distance of everything. This is definitely a budget option. There are three very steep flights of stairs to the top floor. I had the best room...a pleasant bedroom with fan and mosquito net and a small dressing table with mirror. The bathroom has a vrry deep Arab tub that is impossible to get into or out of, but the shower is fine, although there is no hot water. There is a so-called balcony with a pleasant view over the water and 2 narrow daybeds...perfect for an afternoon nap. The entire house is a bit grimy and untidy, but as a budget place to sleep, it's fine. There is no lounge or dining area. You are either in your room or out. Owner Sultan is a very sweet and generous guy who came down at midnight when I could not open the front door. He also arranged an assistant to help me get my small backback down the stairs and took me to the pier for the public boat to the airport. Very good value for the budget traveler and immersion in the local culture.

I liked the extremely convivial and obliging owner, Mohammed. My room, with another bed on a balcony, has a great view, boats coming and going, Jupiter and the stars, I even saw satellites,and very breezy, and cleaned daily....also, the cleanest loo in Africa!! ;-)

I didn't like leaving! I'll be back!!

The place is amazing good, and I was satisfied with everything from the customer service-reception. The sea view from the balcony was amazing beautiful.

Nothing to note. I was comfortable about everything there.
