'Nanini Backyard' Home Stay

What did I like? Everything - I wish I could give this one an 11! Diana was the most incredible host in the world. Wonderful person to talk to, extremely helpful. She invited us to have local breakfast in the town and introduced us to some excellent Chinese Indonesian foods. She also washed our laundry for us. The original expectation was for us to hang our own laundry to dry once it was clean, but she ended up hanging it for us since she knew that we were going to be out most of the day. The homestay itself is incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the location is extremely peaceful. Incredible value.

Nothing at all. My only regret was missing Diana’s invitation to breakfast on our second morning, which was completely my fault.

Very comfortable and clean room. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe and well looked after throughout my stay. Di’s hospitality really stood out — she gave great local recommendations for breakfast and coffee spots, helped organise transport with a very lovely driver for the next day, and even took me on a small tour of Berastagi, which made the stay feel very personal and welcoming. I didn’t expect much from a short stay, but it quickly became one of the most memorable parts of my trip.

Excellent green location away from the noisy town center but still convenient because you can reach everything you need (ATM, good choices of food) in 10 min walk. The owner Diana is a wonderful person she let us use her kitchen, fridge, tea etc. She helped us to find the best guides for a day activity and trekking volcano Sibayak. The hot shower was life saving as Berastagi area can get really get bit cold in the evening.

We loved everything.
