Location. Very friendly staff. Nice bar with good food and drinks and great staff. Nice decor. Comfortable beds. Well organized space.

No sauna (even though booking.com said there was sauna in the hotel :-( Not super clean (but not bad). You have to ask for slippers.

Het ontbijt was fantastisch, veel keuze en allemaal even lekker. Vers fruitsap was zeker een pluspunt. Rustig gelegen.

• Gebrek aan gastvrijheid in de bar: er werd gevraagd of we de rekening wilden terwijl we nog iets wilden bestellen • €40 toeslag voor een huisdier, maar geen drinkbak voorzien op de kamer • Algemeen weinig aandacht voor service en details

Een heel fijn, stijlvol hotel waar we graag nog eens terugkomen.

Wij hadden een superervaring bij The Ostendian. Het personeel was uitzonderlijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam, zowel aan de receptie als in de bar en bij het ontbijt. Je voelt je meteen welkom. Het hotel zelf is heel mooi en hedendaags ingericht, met een warme knipoog naar de jaren ’70. Geen saaie “sad beige” esthetiek, maar kleur en karakter, met veel verwijzingen naar bekende Oostendse figuren. De grafische huisstijl, met illustraties van Herr Seele, geeft het hotel echt een eigen identiteit. Het ontbijtbuffet was top: zeer uitgebreid, kwalitatief en voor ieder wat wils. Ook de bar is gezellig en aangenaam om even te blijven hangen. De ligging is ideaal, vlak bij het station en op wandelafstand van heel wat leuke restaurants. Wij verbleven in de kleinste kamer, wat perfect was voor één nacht. Voor een langer verblijf zouden we wel een grotere kamer kiezen. Bed, matras en kussens waren comfortabel, al waren we een beetje verrast dat er geen kussenbeschermers waren, enkel een sloop.

Kleine minpuntjes (eerder muggenzifterij): er waren weinig concrete aanbevelingen voor horeca of toeristische activiteiten, en de plastieken plant op de kamer was wat overbodig.

Een leuke, rustige, alles biedende locatie

Het interieur, het ontbijt, de kamer indeling, de grote van de kamer, alles was er aanwezig. Haar was heel proper, niets op aan te merken. Het personeel was vriendelijk, voor herhaling vatbaar. Het was mijn verjaardag en er stond een kaartje in de de kamer, dat vond ik heel leuk!
