Cool, quaint & quirky. Amazing shade canopy of ancient pines surround this original 1800s cottage. If you like old world without glitz and glamour this is for you. Perfect for motor biking Gisborne and surrounding areas. Kathryn, the owner is lovely and very accomodating. She allowed us to store our bikes in her implement shed, which was ideal. There is plenty of room for larger towing vehicles and trailer.
A digital large screen TV would be ideal as most people can now hotspot off their mobile for internet connection so we can tap into our own phone wifi and enjoy Netflix etc. The couch in the lounge area could do with refurbishment. Loved that it is old world but it's lost it's padding and isn't as comfortable as it could be.

Cozy and historical cabin. We loved the history and the charm. The setting was beautiful and peaceful, and we felt like we stepped back in time.
It would have been good to have another tea towel.

It was a very typical 100 year old cottage and to be far we knew that before we went there but we weren't prepared for just how authentic it really is. If your looking to stay in a very quiet location and can stand to go back in time this far it is definitely the place for you .
Badly in need of being done up a little we found it very cold and very hard to heat despite having a reverse cycle ac and a wood fire to light. It was a very long uneven dark walk to the toilet of a night for my husband. A step a bit too far back in time for us.
