The view on the balcony was amazing and private: morning sunrises, the Ionian Sea view, views of the surrounding mountains, and seeing Calabria on the other side of the bay. The location was perfect. A short walk (roughly 5 minutes) to the center of the city (Corso Umberto), where most of the shops and restaurants were located. Grocery stores, bakeries and pharmacies close-by. Our host, Xenia, was very helpful and informative. She responded quickly to inquiries, booked a restaurant reservation and transfer to and from the airport, and reserved an outstanding sunset boat ride tour. We also liked that this was a 2 bedroom 2 bath property. The second bathroom made it easier to get ready each day.

The showers were very small about a meter square, but we learned how to navigate them. This is not a problem with the property per se, but walking anywhere from there is an uphill-downhill climb. Even though it is a short walk, going to Corso Umberto (City Center) is a steep uphill walk with narrow areas for pedestrians. A certain degree of fitness is required to enjoy walking into town from this location.
