Rab Barbat Villas 4 stars 300 sea

The whole family loved this place, we took a break to go and visit Zadar, but then went back again to Barbat. The sea and the beaches on Rab are beautiful. And the stay at this property was a great experience. We hope to be back next year as well. We think we will visit Rab and also Opatija next year.

Everything was perfect, that is why we returned. We had everything we needed and we felt as if we were at our own home. What could be improved? Nothing. All the appliances, bathrooms etc. are appointed with the finest equipment or materials.

We loved that we could rent two houses in a row. Each house is in excellent shape and has all the amenities. Rooms are big and beds are great. Each room has its bathroom. Takes 3 min to get to the sea and right in front is the best pizza on the island. We had a boat in front as well, it was amazing.

This was not our first time on Rab, we keep returning to the place because of its climate, clean waters, historic downtown with a vibrant cultural scene in summer and quiet corners in winter. This time we decided to stay in Barbat at the Rab Barbat Villas. We loved it! Its a quiet place, and a quiet setting. The rooms are enormous (compared to those that we stayed at in Rab downtown, actually compared to a lot of room we stayed around the world). They hosts arranged a welcome package for us, a bottle of an excellent local red wine and plenty of coffee to wake us up next morning. The place is well appointed and full of nice details, full kitchen ample bathrooms. I am not going to recount the list of available things. For us the most important were the quiet of the place, the ample courtyard with plenty of parking space, deep shaded terrace. Rab is known for its diverse geology and beaches. Barbat has a long walkway and many small concrete piers and beaches to chose from. The water is crystal clear and in June was of perfect temperature. You can walk to the beach in a couple of minutes. Or you can take the two bicycles available with the accomodation and hop on the for a ride along the waterfront (which goes all the way to Rab. At the waterfront there are several places to eat (Marko has great seafood, and Kaštel one of the best pizza's on the island). The other convenience at the water front is the Taxi boat stop (right down from the villa). We took the boat to Rab for a round trip. During our stay a professor from Harvard stayed with his family, we spent more than one evening discussing topics ranging from where the economy is going to our own travel experiences. We agreed, Dubrovnik may have better known walls, but Rab has the Felix in its latin name (Felix Arba) and made both of our families happy. In the end, we are taking a break to visit the Krka falls, but we managed to arrange with the hosts a booking when we are back on Rab.

That we had to leave :) Well its always hard to leave the Adriatic coast.
