New Blue Horizon Villa

We stayed at New Blue Horizon Villa for 5 days and had a truly comfortable and relaxing experience. The owner, Mr. Sudath, personally picked us up from Colombo Airport, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch. The drive to the villa takes about 3 hours by car, but it’s scenic and worth the journey. When we arrived in the afternoon, we were welcomed by a green oasis in the form of a beautifully managed garden. You have to climb up a short set of cement stairs from the parking area to the villa entrance. The view from here itself makes the stay special. There's a patio or verandah outside the seaview cottage for breakfast and other meals. There's a separate dining area for garden view villa guests. The seaview room is very spacious - it connects to a smaller attached room suitable for children, though we didn’t use it during our stay. The seaview villa also opens out to a small courtyard behind the room, which you can sneak away to if no other guests are staying at the property. The food was simple and the overall stay was very comfortable. The villa isn’t overly fancy or luxurious, but that’s part of its charm. It feels warm, homely, and peaceful. The bathroom was clean; however, we did notice that water was collecting on the floor and informed the staff about it. One of the highlights of the property is the beautiful garden maintained by Mr. Sudath. It’s thoughtfully cared for and makes the villa feel very welcoming. We also spotted many animals in the garden throughout our stay, which added to the experience. Overall, probably one of the nicest places to stay in Tangalle if you’re looking for a peaceful, ocean-facing, homely getaway.

The cupboards in the rooms needed a little extra tidying up. They were full of old gadgets and wires and were very dusty. There was not enough place for us to store our clothes, shoes etc. No place to hang up clothes or dry our costumes.

Super Lage. Sehr ruhig. Toller Garten. Eigener Kleiner Strandzugang. Der Gastgeber ist super. Kümmert sich liebevoll um seine Gäste und hilft immer weiter.

I didn’t like the room because it was very dirty. I had already mentioned that the room did not look clean — there was a used razor left behind and the hand soap was empty. The room was extremely dusty everywhere. Although he said the room would be cleaned, when we checked it again, it seemed that only the area in front of the TV was cleaned, not behind it. The room was still dusty overall. In addition, breakfast starts very late and was not tasty. Also, the window cannot be opened because there is no mosquito cover.
