The location.
You could hear the upstairs renter's every move, as it was inexpensively constructed building.

I really liked the price for the area. The apartment was neat, and the parking was perfect. It was easily accessible and easy to find. It was on a very quiet, isolated road.
The apartments detailed cleaning was overlooked (dead bugs in the windows, gross on the walls around the toilet). II was on the ground floor, and any movement from the upstairs apartment was VERY loud.
