Marina View Studio - Harbour

Location is fantastic. I'm from Dublin but haven't been in Howth in several years. We were very lucky as our trip coincided with a heatwave so everything looked beautiful. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean. We had a beautiful view of the harbour from our bay window so could watch yachts come and go while breakfasting. Having a kitchenette in the room is so convenient as it means you don't have to eat out every day. However, when we did choose to eat out, there were endless options to choose from. In fact, I don't think I have seen so many eateries in one town before. The Dart station was a 5 minute walk away so we took advantage of it to pop down a few stops to visit family. Also regular Dublin buses throughout the day. I did the Cliff walk one day while my husband went sailing with his sons. Fabulous views on the Cliff walk and well worth the steep climb. Having a TV in the room was a bonus but to be honest we never turned it on once. The bed was very comfortable. Nice big shower too and plenty of hot water with towels and toiletries provided. What I really liked about our room was the abundance of natural light. We had a big bay window with original sash windows, so the room was flooded with sunshine each day.

Very little negative so this will be brief. One thing I felt was badly missing was a full length mirror in the bedroom. The only mirror was in the bathroom and it was over the sink. It would have been nice to check my outfit before going out, for blowdrying hair and applying any makeup. There was a perfect place for it too beside the tall cupboard. There were no egg cups and no cutting knives for chopping vegetables or fruit. The only sharp knife was a large serated edge bread knife. A cheese grater for parmesan would be handy too, a bowel for salad and a couple of chopping boards. As I said, very few real negatives and the issues I have raised could be easily sorted. One last thing, although the windows have blackout blinds, it would be handy if it was possible to draw across a light linen curtain panel or similar for during the day for privacy sakes. Nothing that will block light, but enough to prevent people from viewing you sitting on the bed while they pass on the bus.

Noisy, close to the street so when you open the windows it is noisy in the mornings

L'emplacement est idéal proche de toutes les activités et des endroits où manger avec en plus une vue agréable sur le port et Ireland Eyes L'appartement est très bien équipé et confortable.

Assez mal isolé phoniquement, les autres locataires peuvent être gênant ainsi que les jeunes sortant du pub en bas de la rue.

Location was fabulous for us

Didn’t feel very clean, fridge not clean, carpet sticky , strange smell in room, unable to switch on fan , very high up & probably not working
