13 Apartments 3BR R&P Living

This apartment is in a very convienent location for staying in Halle (Neustadt!) It is only a very short walk to the tram at Mark Twain Platz, so very easy to get around town (I want to say 25-35 mins by tram to the lovely Halle Markplatz and only a little further to the Hbf). This location has a few grocery stores, places to eat and even a DHL (Deutche Post location for mailing my postcards) within easy walking distance. The apartment we got was on the 1st floor and was very clean and nicely decorated. It had VERY comfortable beds, nice windows, and a great kitchen with a washing machine (drying racks are outside on the balcony), a great large table for dining, a large refrigerator with a freezer, and all the basics we needed for cooking/eating (pots, dishes, silverware, etc.) There were even TV's in all 3 bedrooms (though we didn't use them and instead connected out phones and laptops to the strong and reliable WiFi provided.) Though there aren't closets or large wardrobes, there are nice shelves in each bedroom as well as lockers in the master bedroom and a nice hanging rack by the front door. Although I wasn't sure initially when we first arrived later in the evening with all our luggage, we did find it safe to walk around in during the day and even at night on the occasions we arrived back after dark. There were a lot of places nearby you could go to get anything you'd need; I'd especially recommend the Penny (a nearby grocery store) which is only a 1-2 minute walk from the apartment and was well-stocked with just about anything we wanted. The landlord was quick to get back to us with any questions or concerns we had which we really appreciated. He also spoke perfect English (which was also appreciated as I speak very little German!!) I'd definitely reserve an apartment with him again. Thank you (Vielen Dank!)

It was a bit of a learning curve to find the proper building, the proper box to get the keys from, and the proper door to use to enter the apartment building - not to mention to find the actual proper apartment door (which was clearly marked but unfortunately not the first door we tried as we didn't see the well-marked door higher up than we thought the 1st floor landing was!!!) However, I will admit that we were very unfamiliar with this area prior to our stay and that definitely didn't make it any easier! We were also quite disappointed that while there was a lovely bathtub and shower in our apartment, there were NO provided towels to use - and we hadn't packed any for our overseas trip (especially with the rigorous limits on luggage weight!) However, upon further investigation, the listing for the property DID actually say these wouldn't be provided (except for an extra fee) and I had not understood that it wasn't "no *extra* towels or linens without a fee" but rather "no towels without a fee". The landlord did get back to me quickly when I messaged him about this and explained why and he also tried hard to work with us to find a good solution, which I appreciated.
