Khao Phang Camping

Waanzinnig toffe accomodatie. Aan de rivier, midden in de jungle. Eenvoudige maar krachtige hutten. Zowel aan rivier als iets hoger gelegen. Wij hadden de iets hogere gelegen met prachtig uitzicht op de rotsen en grot Echt aanrader. De gastvrouw is super. Je kan er lekker ontbijten maar ook avond eten

1) Everything was very clean. 2) The location (in a rubber plantation) was peaceful - and I even saw two owls early one morning! 3) The ambience is very nice, with colorful international flags fluttering around the kitchen area, and pretty lights strung up outside that made the area feel welcoming and cozy at night. 4) The host helped me with transportation to/from the place. 5) The host booked a day tour of the park for me, and the location was close to the start of the tour so that was nice (the tour operator picked me up). 6) The vegetarian pad thai (with egg) that the host cooked for me on two nights was very good. 7) The two dogs who live on site are super calm and very sweet!

1) The hut was too short for me (as a person about 6 feet tall) to stand up in unless I was standing in the middle of the bed, and I ended up banging my head painfully against the sharp wooden beams a couple of times, and also straining my knee when I tried walking around in a crouch to avoid banging my head (I was in "tent #1" which I think might have been the smallest one). 2) One time when I was showering the water pressure went away almost entirely for several minutes - I thought the water had run out, but just when I was about to towel off with shampoo still in my hair the water pressure came back on again. 4) The electricity cut out when I was trying to pack up to leave, so I had to bring my suitcase outside to finish. 5) The location was hard to get to without a car (the bus driver dropped me off several kilometers away and said to call a Grab, but no Grab was available - so eventually the host herself drove over to pick me up). 6) There are very few restaurant/food options nearby (there is one restaurant at a resort maybe half a km away, but it was closed the one time I tried going there - though the host can cook some meals so that's an option). 7) The drinking water is provided in small single-use plastic bottles, which generates a lot of waste (it would be nicer if there was a large water dispenser with a refillable bottle).

Just the chickens in the morning haha couldnt sleep long.

Just great for basic camping, great environment and quiet. Good price.

The reception was under water when we got there as it was raining, the access to the toilets/ bathroom were on the over side of the flood so need to walk in the water to reach it. For a bit more the camp across the road is much nicer Cheowlan camp and resort and good restaurant overlooking on the river and cliff.
