Aberdeen Hillview Retreat

It was quaint, comfy, clean and very cozy.. much better than a hotel… a little home away from home

I completely loved my 4 night, solo stay at Hillview Retreat as I explored Cape Breton. Pat was prompt in responding to questions prior to arrival. Rick gave me a patient, informative tour of the RV when I arrived. During my stay, Rick checked in just the right amount, giving me so much space and privacy. I felt safe and respected. The RV sits on their property, tucked away by trees and shrubbery, providing privacy for both them and me. There is a delightful, moss-covered path leading through a small woods to a lake where there is a bench to sit with your morning coffee. A beautiful bouquet of flowers greeted me upon arrival, hand-picked by Pat from their gardens. There was also a cute pair of disposable bedroom slippers to wear inside the trailer, rather than soiling the floor with shoes. The RV is so very clean and comfortable from end to end. The bed is super comfortable, the leather couch and recliners perfect for the rainy day I experienced, and every kitchen appliance needed to cook meals and make hot drinks. There is even a tiny washer-dryer set as well as a drying rack on the lovely deck. The AC kept the place comfortable, even in mid-July. There is a fireplace which would be so cozy in cooler weather. The place was just what my heart needed and I would certainly go back. Thank you so much Rick and Pat!

I can't think of anything I didn't like, other than most of the places I wanted to see in Cape Breton were a 2-hour drive, which meant I couldn't have as much time relaxing in this lovely RV as I had imagined I would. That was my bad, not Rick and Pat's. I couldn't wish for better hosts.

We spent a week at the Aberdeen Hillview Retreat, and we truly could not be happier with our experience! This place is an absolute gem. The location is brilliant—perfectly situated whether you want to head out and explore the beautiful surroundings or simply stay put and get some well-deserved rest. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how impeccably clean everything was. The hosts are nothing short of terrific. They are incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive. It is obvious that they have truly thought of every single detail to make their guests feel right at home. If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, this is definitely the spot. Everything about our stay was quite simply perfect. We loved it, we highly recommend it!

A wonderful place to stay where Rick and Pat have really thought of everything we could possibly have needed. The view is gorgeous and we saw foxes and a hummingbird. There are lots of eagles and deer in the area. There's swimming nearby and the Whycocomagh Picnic Park is lovely for swimming. If you need to relax this is the place for you and my new mission is to make sure I came back and stay longer.

It was all fine, my partner couldn't find a biro or pencil sharpener but I had biros and his love of writing with pencils is odd and shouldn't necessarily be encouraged.
