Mantlemas Cottage

Stayed for a wedding. Within driving distance of reception and church

The property is in a great location close to two pubs and a shop in Turners Hill. Its also close to attractions such as Tullys Farm, LeonardsLee Gardens, Ardingly Reservoir and Wakehurst. The house itself is long and thin, due to it being two cottages that were knocked together at some point. There is a double bedroom at each end and twin room in between, along with a single bath/shower room. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you need for a short stay. The lounge was very cosy and has a wood fire, which is probably great in winter. One of the best features is the large patio area, which looks new. It has a large dining table as well as another large wicker furniture set, great for sitting and enjoying the afternoon sun.

The garden is reasonably well enclosed for pets, apart from the fence at the top right corner of the plot joining the neighbours garden which has been pushed down. Slightly more concerning is the gap in the hedging leading out onto the busy main road, which is clearly where a digger was brought in for the landscaping. Whilst conifers have been planted across the gap, they are still immature and present an easy escape route for dogs. The noise from the road in front of the house is also somewhat obtrusive, given the lack of double glazing

Great location for Tulleys tulip fest, lovely cottage ideal for our use. Had all facilities we needed, lovely outside space, great to sit in the afternoon sun

This cosy cottage is full of character and charm! We loved it. Everything was of the highest quality. The garden is beautiful. There are some lovely walks across footpaths nearby, and plenty of great places to visit in the vicinity.

The only negative I can think of is that there is a main road just outside the cottage, and as the windows aren't double-glazed, the noise of the road is rather loud. But the advantage of the main road is that the cottage is easily accessible.
