This was an ideal place for our family of four with 2 children (12 and 15) to stop for a night in our road trip. The house was a real experience and the food was lovely. The kids really enjoyed the collection of toys to play (despite their age!) and paddling in the river. The location is beautiful and a break from any city stays. I would have to single out the host who couldn’t do enough for us, from sending over directions to ensure we didn’t take the mountain route on the way there to emailing suggestions for us to do en route to our next stop the next morning. The staff were brilliant and really made the stay.

Beautiful location, it’s next to a river and near a waterfall. We were the only guests during our 3 night stay so it was very peaceful and consequently we had the public bath to ourselves. You must have the BBQ at least once. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to help. The manager, Ken Kira was very helpful with our itinerary. He even researched and booked a sake brewery tour as well as a soba noodle workshop at short notice. The guest house is located deep in the mountains and if you are not comfortable with narrow windy roads you should follow the instructions given by the manager. However it is still a convenient base to explore many historical sites.

As it is a converted school house, the toilets are at either end of the corridors. It was a little chilly in April. However I would still recommend this guesthouse.

Quelle aventure ! Un lieu hors du temps, parfaitement tenu et complètement fou. Personnel absolument parfait et plein d'attentions. C'est un lieu fortement fréquenté par les japonais, il est conseillé de bien connaitre les us et coutumes avant d'y aller.

Rien, c'était génial. Simplement prévoir d'arriver de jour. De nuit la route peut être vraiment compliquée.
