Careful Cottage

The property is well- equipped, comfortable and peaceful.

Shower drains slowly, no shower mat, lack of chopping knives despite good cooking facilities.

Spending your summer holiday at Careful Cottage, Lapford, Devon, will make you feel like Saint Peter let you in a bit early. It's literally a slice of paradise. The calm atmosphere, the beautiful surroundings, the high-end interior, the lovely staff - all of adds to a truly perfect stay. The friendly owners made sure we had everything we needed. We booked almost three weeks in July and were sad to leave! Fantastic location for day trips to destinations like Exeter, Exmouth, Castle Drogo or Knight's Hayes. But you can also travel to the amazing north coast and discover gems like Barnstaple or Croyde.

The only thing that you must know is that Lapford is quite remote. You will need a car to reach essential places like pubs or supermarkets.

The property itself is wonderful and fully met our needs for the one night we stayed. The location is amazingly quiet which we also appreciated. It`s apparent that a lot of thought has gone into creating this accommodation.

Our day of travel was difficult and we were delayed resulting in us arriving half way through the evening. We now know there are 2 possible points of access to the property overall, ie, getting into the car parking and accommodation. There is a notice at one of the access locations that is very faded and almost impossible to read which we now know is guidance for arrivals access, this notice requires prompt improvement.
