Makani Villa

Makani Villa was an amazing place to stay — a spacious, genuinely well-equipped 4-bedroom villa perfect for families or groups. Each of the four bedrooms has its own bathroom (two with double beds, one with two singles, and one with a double and a single), and every room has both AC and a ceiling fan, which was plenty comfortable most of the time. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need to cook properly, plus there's a separate cooking area with a gas stove and a BBQ fireplace. The backyard is spacious and beautifully maintained, and the outdoor heated shower is perfect after a day at the beach. The huge terrace is made for long, slow sunsets — the house sits right on the shoreline, with plenty of beaches within a 15-minute drive. It's just outside Mytikas village, which has markets, a bakery, tavernas, and farmers' markets only 2–3 minutes away by car, with larger supermarkets around 10–15 minutes out. The whole place has a wonderful vibe: long sunsets, the white noise of the waves mixing with crickets in the evening — deeply relaxing. A note on swimming: the beach directly in front of the house isn't ideal, as the coast turns rocky about 20m out. That said, just 50m to the right there's a tiny cove perfect for a swim — usually accessed by the neighboring houses, so we had it to ourselves most of the time. The managing agency was excellent. Since the house was free before our arrival, they let us check in early in the morning. They were very responsive throughout, quick to fix a few minor issues we noticed after arriving, and generous with helpful local tips — nearby beaches, restaurants, the fish market, and the butcher. For our 11-day stay, the house had plenty of sheets and towels (two sets each). The cleaning isn't included in the price, but the managing agency can arrange it very affordably.

Two practical notes rather than real complaints. One bedroom is on a sub-level — small windows, so not a full basement, but it came as a slight surprise. And connectivity is limited: cell reception in the area is weak and the WiFi is fine for browsing but not really up to remote work, so plan an alternative if you need to get things done.
