This the actual Lenin Basecamp currently operated by Central Asia Travel. Edelweiss is the name of the meadow where the camp sits. The location could not be any better, as close as possible to the impressive glaciers of Lenin Peak and surrounding peaks (Spartak, Unity, XIX Congress) while keeping the comfort proper of glamping. We rented 2 yurts for our family of 4. Each yurt had 3 very comfortable beds and its own full bathroom. The way it works is by making clusters of 3 yurts. Each cluster has access to a "tunnel" that contains 3 duly separated bathrooms in a metal structure. The yurts were warm (there is a heating system), spacious and well decorated. Electric plugs everywhere + a closet and a central table. The shared spaces (restaurant, lounge, coffee shop, management building, volleyball courts, etc.) were very well kept. Extraordinary, especially for the price. I can't only imagine how much a place like this would cost in the USA, Canada, or Switzerland. The food was good and plenty. The vibe was amazing, with so many athletes getting ready to summit one of the many 5k or 6k peaks, or Lenin itself at 7.1k. The young personnel was efficient and helpful. Good gear for rent: we rent Cat 4 sunglasses for our day in the glacier. But of course the best of all: the views. We couldn't get tired of watching the natural spectacle of Lenin Peak as the Earth rotates. This place is a destination in itself.
They don't take credit cards. Cash is king. There was an issue with the toilet, with the lid getting loose. Very minor issue. I have to talk about the driver and the bus back to Osh. We arrived to the camp in our own private transport, but took the shuttle back to Osh for the return ($40/person). About the driver: constantly distracted on his cell phone (this is a malaise in the entire country). Initially refused to drop us in our hotel, located a mere 300 meters from his route, on a bad road. Kept an aggressive position, resolved when we offered to pay him some additional money. It's a small amount, but the irony is not lost on us: he drove us more than 20 kilometers from the camp to the highway through impossible much worse terrain, but couldn't do 300 meters? Get ready for the bus ride. It's uncomfortable for anybody not occupying the front seats. I'm a small guy and had a tough time in my seat.

The view and location is incredible and the clamping hurts are amazing
We felt them a little overpriced especially as there is the additional cost of dinner and a pass to enter the zone which you never receive or see so it kinda feels like an extra $40usd unnecessarily. Also, the staff were nice but no one really had a clue what was going on or if we’d paid, or which room, or anything.
