The apartment itself is not bad. It's spacious, and apart from the road noise, I liked the location. It could do with some minor improvements that would quite significantly improve its value, though.

I didn't like the communication with the hosts. Or the fact that things were promised in the listing that weren't there. Eg, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, no outdoor furniture. What made it a bad experience for me, though, is that the hosts repeatedly promised things - like providing a hair dryer - that never happened. I stayed for a month, so plenty of time to fix or provide things. The hob, which started throwing flash flames at some point, got ignored. They did send a very nice and helpful maintenance person once, and he fixed some things, but never afterwards when it was needed. I had to buy a chair for outdoors, a coffee maker, a hair dryer, and eventually an electric hot plate when I could no longer use the hob. I understand that not everything can be fixed or things can sometimes take time, but repeatedly promising things and then not delivering them in weeks, I find unacceptable. I also highly recommend that someone from the host team actually lives in the place for a couple of days. I think a few basic things (like something to put things on in the bathroom) that could significantly improve the place, would become apparent pretty quickly.
