8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
Good location, halfway between station and castle, in a quiet area of temples, abandoned businesses and a smattering of small independent shops and cafes. Traditional family house sensitively renovated by owner-manager Aoyama-san, who is polite and helpful, makes excellent coffee, and takes the time to chat over breakfast.
Everything was fine for me, but bear in mind that this is relatively small traditional space with steep stairs and thin walls.
