About this villa rental
An authentic stone house in the shade of hundred-year-old plane trees stands in the heart of the village of Fontvieille, in the Les Alpilles regional park, and is the hometown of author Alphonse Daudet, who wrote "Letters from my mill." The Villa Daudet was beautifully restored and decorated by its current owners in 2021. Near the main square with its shops, restaurants, and cafes. Fontvieille is a few miles from "les Baux" castle and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Daudet was inspired by the Fontvielle mill, which is located on a hill surrounded by olive trees, pines, and oaks.
There are many hiking trails around the village that allow you to appreciate the site and the nature that surrounds this charming mill... This lovely home is ideal for those who appreciate nature, history, heritage, authenticity, and traditions.
Ground floor entrance hall with access to the south garden. A cosy library with a television and a sitting room, a second living room that connects to the dining room, and a modern fully equipped kitchen with seating for six people. Dining room with a formal round table.

The high Provence cypress trees that surround the garden protect your privacy. Trellises shade a lovely terrace with outdoor dining area and summer lounge from the sun and heat. Summer lounge "Orangeraie" of 25 m2. The main garden is 400 m2 in size and features a natural stone pool measuring 7m x 2.5m. A few cabins that have been restored, including a room with a washing machine and dryer, a barbecue room with a small wine cellar, separate toilets, and a technical room.

- St Remy – 15 minutes ‘drive
