We enjoyed our stay at this apartment in Washington DC. The location was excellent — it was easy to get around and visit the main attractions. The apartment itself had everything we needed during our stay, which made it very comfortable and stress-free. It was clean, cozy, and well-equipped.

There were also a few things we did not like during our stay. First, the apartment was very cold when we arrived, and we had to spend quite a while heating it up ourselves, so the first impression was not very pleasant. We also did not like that the apartment turned out to be a semi-basement unit. This was not mentioned on Booking.com, and we feel that important information like this should be disclosed properly to guests beforehand. there was also very little natural light inside. The space felt quite dark during the day, and this affected the overall atmosphere and comfort of the apartment more than we expected. Another issue was the very poor sound insulation. We could clearly hear the upstairs neighbors walking around, vacuuming, exercising, and other daily activities as if they were right next to us. It became quite disturbing at times, especially in the mornings and evenings. The apartment would definitely benefit from better soundproofing. We were also surprised by the large number of rules and instructions sent by the renter. We have rented apartments many times before, but we had never received so many detailed requirements and guidelines. It felt a bit excessive and made the stay feel less relaxed. The shower water pressure was also quite weak, which made using the bathroom less comfortable. Another downside was the lack of good supermarkets nearby. The closest Trader Joe’s 15 min away had a rather limited selection and felt quite small and understocked.
